LSU's pro day was the headliner today and the workout is already being talked about. Here’s what we’ve learned.

While the 40 time of Arden Key has been widely publicized, as it was recorded between 4.85 and 4.91, multiple people on hand told me the pass rusher looked good in drills. Key was explosive, hit the bags with power and looked athletic moving around the field.

Wide receiver and return specialist Russell Gage was a big winner today. He timed his 40 in the 4.45 area and clocked 6.9 in the three-cone. His vertical jump touched 39 inches while his broad was 10-foot-2. Gage, who has a host of visits coming up, looked good in position drills and also fielded kicks.

Underrated running back Darrel Williams improved his 40 time from the combine, clocking a 4.65 (4.72 at the combine) and looked sensational in drills. Williams looked good in both pass-catching and pass-protection drills.

It was a rather uneven day for the Tigers other running back, Derrius Guice.

I’m told Guice did nothing to move the needle in his favor today and documented off-field issues are weighing heavily on his draft grade. Several teams do not hold a positive view of Guice and some have characterized the talented ball carrier as a “loose cannon.”

Will his on-field talent be enough to offset character concerns?

That remains to be seen but Guice is scheduled to visit several prominent franchises. The New England Patriots are next on his docket, and Guice is still set to see the Philadelphia Eagles, a visit which was rescheduled after flight issues. Yesterday Guice met with the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins.
